Should we know our budget before we get started?
It is always helpful to understand how much a customer is comfortable spending on a project so that the right combination of materials, skills, size, quality, and detail can be combined to best accomplish the clients overall goals. We have worked in many ways and have rediscovered multiple times that it is always much more efficient to build a project around the customers budget than vice versa.
Do you help to strategize with us about the best options for our home?
Yes, most definitely. Every project is different and has its own set of challenges and accomplishments. Just about every project has some level of value engineering where we discuss the customers goals and dreams then help with suggestions to give the client the most bang for their buck. This is accomplished by making smart, value oriented decisions that deliver the best quality, fit and finish, durability, comfort, and aesthetics for the individual budget of each project. Our years of experience with value engineering help our clients accomplish extremely rewarding projects with high value to cost ratios. We see our job not as making the decisions for the client but to better educate the client so they are more prepared to make well informed decisions.
If we find an older home, can you share ideas about the best way to make upgrades?
Yes, one of our areas of specialty is whole house renovations. We love finding older homes in well established neighborhoods that have not been getting the love they deserve. We enjoy transforming older homes into jewels of the neighborhood with modern conveniences that make the home comfortable and enjoyable to live in.
If we’re new to the area, can you offer ideas of where to build a new home?
Yes, we are always aware of available land and older homes that need renovation. We become aware of new opportunities from a variety of trusted sources every single week. We can help you locate the perfect location for your home.
On a large piece of land, can you help us with the best spot for a home, barn, stable, lake, pool, tennis courts, etc.
One of our strong points is the ability to walk any size piece of land whether it’s 1/2 acre or 500 acres, and determine the most beneficial location to build. We enjoy taking into consideration topography, existing trees, views, sunlight, soils, and the client’s personal goals and dreams. The perfect siting of a home very often includes not only finding the best location on a property, but also determining elevation, orientation towards views, trees, and sunlight and ease of access in and out of the home. We have quite often sited homes to deliver specific views out of certain key windows and outdoor living areas. These views can include specific specimen trees, existing features of the property, and areas we are creating new places of enjoyment. The accompanying barns, stables, outbuildings, pools, tennis courts, ponds and outdoor amenities are thoughtfully placed with the same considerations that a home is sited. After developing the most cost effective way to build a quality project that accomplishes the customers goals and dreams, the next most important aspect in building is thoughtful siting. The most appreciated siting juggles sometimes both competing and complimentary possibilities then delivers the perfect location, elevation, and orientation for years of quality enjoyment. Our ability to see the possibilities and visualize the perfect outcome sets us apart in our industry. We achieve a huge amount of satisfaction from creating beautiful spaces to enjoy life’s special moments and that starts in the early stages of visualizing the perfect outcome through proper siting.
